20 years of being BE Mechanical...(2001-2021) Part I

There was a small little girl born in a cozy, traditional town of Nashik...Slowly started growing up, went to Famous(that time) Marathi school like a regular tradition of family. She was an average looking girl, confused and clueless till 7th or 8th about what she wanted to be..

She initially wanted to be a lawyer like her father. But then, कोर्टाची पायरी शहाण्याने चढू नये.. आणि घरातल्या मुलीनं मुळीच वकील होऊ नये असा वडिलांचा निग्रह (Father insists that daughter should not opt lawyer as career and go to court) So ruled out that option. There were no psychometric tests available that time to decide the inclination and liking.

And then came out the result of 10th. OMG ! the girl had scored close to 90%  !!! (90% before 25-26 years was a huge score though 😄), she secured admission in prestigious college of Science (RYK) with PCM and Electronics as vocational subject for securing good marks in 12th. (That time most in 90% bracket used to go by that path if no inclination towards biology) In a month's time she realized the biggest mistake of taking Electronics as vocational subject, because everything was imaginary in the air, the P and N junctions, the diode and triodes all... She understood that was not her cup of tea. (Surprisingly she is SME (subject matter expert ) of Mechatronics and automation now😄)

Lucky she! Her sister was doing civil engineering diploma in Government polytechnic, Nashik road(GPN) and she came to know about application process there. She discussed over the four branches available there with some cousins, Civil, Mechanical, Electrical and Plastic Engineering. With experience of electronics vocational, she ruled out the choice of electrical engg. Civil she never had an inclination. Plastic a new branch, So finalized on Mechanical branch for engineering diploma, which was real world problems oriented branch with better scope in future. And then started her journey towards Mechanical Engineering...

Her Diploma Days...

Those were the golden day of her life. With new place, new people, different cultural, location background friends, the girls gang.. Every day's bus journeys to college, added a lot of zeal to her confidence. Those years she had sincere behavior in front of professors, and mischievous and gossiping with friends while eating tiffin's, lecture bunking, movie watching, hoteling, trips with friends, the industrial and dippex visits, gathering and what not.. She enjoyed three years of diploma life thoroughly. And cherry on the top of it, she used to be amongst the first three toppers of the class...

Dream of COEP (Govt. college of Engg Pune since 1854)..

For all those who are in Nashik, Nagar, Pune, colleges are affiliated to Pune University, and every aspiring engineers dream used to be a place in COEP. And it was in her mind as well. She stood 3rd in Maharashtra in the ranking list of Diploma engg. and sure to get COEP, Mechanical engineering. She was on cloud nine... But her parents were apprehensive and hesitant to send her to hostel in Pune. She kept on insisting. Her grand parents residing in Pune came to her rescue. Her grandpa was more than happy to let her stay with them.
